Thromboembolic disease is made up of thrombosis and thromboembolism,which is a serious threat to human’s health. Anticoagulants are widely used in the prevention and treatment of thromboembolic disease, traditional anticoagulants including heparin, low molecular heparin, warfarin have been confirmed effective by numerous clinical studies in preventing and treating thromboembolic desease.In recent years, various new types of oral anticoagulant drugs are emerging, such as dabigatran, rivaroxaban,apixaban and edoxaban.Numerous studies have demonstrated that new oral anticoagulants are not inferior to warfarin in preventing and treating thromboembolic disease with a characteristics of effective、safe、no routine monitoring and rare interaction with food or other drugs.This paper aims at reviewing the classification of the new oral anticoagulants and their progress of clinical application.
