Objective To investigate the brain network alteration and discuss mechanism of s series of symptoms after concussion and providing new clinical evidence for PCS diagnosis based on resting-state fMRI.(1) Tostudy the alterations of brain network propertiesin patients with postconcussion syndrome by graph theoretic approach. (2) To study the changes of functional connectivity of limbic system in patients with post-concussion syndrome. Methods (1) 23 patientsfrom Provincial Hospital Affiliated to Anhui Medical University 3 months after concussion with sustaining dizzy, headache, memory disorder, attention dysfunction and sleep disorder. And 23 volunters paired in sexy, age and education also enrolled as healthy control. Comparisons of selective attention of both groups were conducted using Stroop Word-Color Test. The data of resting-state fMRI in both groups were collected and then dealt with Network Construction which part of GRETNA to obtain the Matrix of brain network. Network Analysis which part of GRETNA was used to obtain Global efficiency and Degree. (2) 28 patients from Provincial Hospital Affiliated to Anhui Medical University in the period from June 2013 to April2014 who have had the concussion for 3 months were enrolled and 30 volunteers paired in sex, age and education were also enrolled as healthy control. The data are dealt with the software of SPM8 and REST to obtain the value of each pair of region of interest, then the value of each pair of functional connectivity in regions of interests were dealt with independent t-test.Results (1)The Globe efficiency in every threshold value have no significant, the significant brain regions in Nodal efficiency compared with healthy control as below left orbital middle frontal gyrus, left posterior cingulate, left lingual, left thalamus, left superior temporal gyrus, right anterior cingulate, right posterior cingulate, right supramarginal gyrus (P<0.05). And the significant brain regions in Degree compared with healthy control as below left superior frontal gyrus, left posterior cingulate cortex, left hippocampus, left supramarginal gyrus, left angular gyrus, right posterior cingulate cortex, right supramarginal gyrus, right precuneus, right superior temporal gyrus, right thalamus (P<0.05).(2)Compared with healthy control, the significant increasing functional connectivity of regions of interests are the connectivity between rightcingulum and right parahippocampus, the connectivity between right cingulum and bilateral calcarine, respectively (P<0.05)Conclusions(1)The research found that the Globe efficiency in every threshold value have no significant, the changes of Nodal efficiency and Degree in brain network may cause brain function deficits in patients with postconcussion symptoms.(2)The alterations of functional connectivity in limbic system may cause brain function deficits in patients with post-concussion syndrome. Therefore, Rs-fMRI techniques as a non-invasive living brain function detection technology provides a new angle for brain network properties and functional connectivity of the different brain areas in patients with post concussion syndrome, which makes it possible to further study the pathophysiological mechanism of symptoms in patients with post concussion syndrome.
