Objective:To investigate the incident of anxiety and depression and the current situation of family functioning,and to investigate the correlation factors from three angles of socio-demographic,clinicalc characteristics of cerebral palsy and family functioning.Methods:A randomized controlled method was used by our study to collect general information on 138 cases of families having children with cerebral palsy (cerebral palsy group) and 73 cases of that with normal children(control group),including the age of parents,level of education,the age and gender of the child,etc. Simultaneously,the clinical data including clinical types and classification was collected.The comparion of mothers in the two group was made with measurement scales of self-rating depression scale (SDS), self-rating anxiety scale (SAS), family cohesion and adaptability scale, Second Edition-Chinese Version (FACES Ⅱ-CV), family assessment device(FAD) and campbell well-being index (CWI).The statistical data and analysis were completed by the software of SPSS17.0 with methods including t test,X2 test,analysis of variance,multiple regression analysis and pearson correlation.Result:①The incidence of depression and anxiety in mothers of children with cerebral palsy was higher than that of normal children.The morbidity of material depression and anxiety of children with cerebral palsy respectively were 57.25% and 58.70%.The morbidity of abnormal psychology was 64.49% with 31.88% of anxiety and depression comorbid. ②Tere was no correlation between the level of material depression of children with cerebral palsy and the characterisitic of socio-demographic such as material age,level fo education,children’s age and gender.There was only crrelation between the level of anxiety and material education. ③There was few correlation between the levels of material depression and anxiety of children with cerebral palsy and clinical feature of cerebral palsy such as clinical types and classification. ④The impairment degree of material family functioning of children with cerebral palsy was higher than that of normal children.The level of depression was associated with score of behavior control in FAD,as well as actual scores of family cohesion and adaptability.But,the level of anxiety was related with score of behavior control in FAD and actual and perception scores of family cohesion, accompained by irrelevant with scales of family adaptability. ⑤The scale of material well-being index of children with cerebral palsy was lower than that of normal children.The scale of well-being index was correlated with the level of depression and anxiety. ⑥There was correlation between depression and anxiety.Conclusion:①Mothers of childrenwith cerebral palsy is high risk of depression and anxiety.② There is no significant correlation between the level of material depression and anxiety and clinical manifestations of cerebral palsy and demograpic data.The level of depression and anxiety are mian related with family factor including family cohesion and adaptation,family functioning.③As the same,well-being index is negatively correlated with depression and anxiety.Mothers of children diagnosed with cerebral palsy should be counselied to reduce the incidence of depression and anxiety,with the great significance of improving their well-being index and promoting social harmony.
