There were 120 millions of patients with hyperuricemia in China and it has been the forth "hyper-" after hypertension, hyperlipidemia and hyperglycemia. Hyperuricemia has widespread harms, and it is closely related to the metabolic syndrome such as gout, coronary heart disease and cardiovascular with cerebrovascular diseases, which is increasingly becoming a new hazard to the health of the people. Now the main treatment of hyperuricemia with some synthetic drugs, such as allopurinol, febuxostat and colchicines, but these drugs can cause some side effects, and serious damage to liver and kidney function. Horticultural products are rich in functional components, which have an important role in the regulation of human health. Therefore, whether the development of the natural product from horticultural products to prevent and regulate the hyperuricemia will have important significant effects on the health of the people. Studies have shown that lemon juice contains citric acid and citrate, it can break down stones, antioxidant and increased glomerular filtration rate. Therefore, this article uses mouse hyperuricemia model and volunteers research, to evaluate the effect of lemon juice drop uric acid.Mice experiment of lemon juice reduces uric acid:1. The two kinds of mouse hyperuricemia models were successfully established. one is modeled using yeast powder and adenine, the other is with potassium oxonate modeling.2. The hyperuricemia model mice were treated with different concentrations of lemon juice. Measure the content of the serum uric acid and the activity of xanthine oxidaseurea. The results showed that 3× lemon juice can decrease uric acid, but there is no significant change in the activity of xanthine oxidase, showing that the mechanism of lemon juice lowering uric acid might differ with allopurinol.3. The mice were treated with different concentrations of lemon juice. Measure the concentration of mice serum creatinine, urea nitrogen, aspartate aminotransferase and alanine aminotransferase. The results showed that the urea nitrogen content increased significantly of the 1×、1.5× and 2× lemon juice dose group, 0.5× lemon juice dose group were not significant change, indicating that 0.5× lemon juice dose group in the liver and kidney of mice without obvious side effects.Volunteer test of lemon juice reduces uric acid:14 patients with hyperuricemia were recruited and signed informed consent. Experiment was carried out for 6 weeks, They drank lemon juice(about 30ml) of a lemon per day. Then Blood examinations should be conducted on the zero week, third week and sixth week. The changes of biochemical indexes in the serum of the patients were observed. The results showed that the uric acid level of the 2 volunteers gradually increased, the uric acid level of the 5 volunteers first increased and then decreased, and the uric acid level of the 3 volunteers gradually decreased, and the uric acid of 2 volunteers returned to normal levels. At the same time, lemon juice had no significant side effects on the liver and kidney function of all the volunteers.
