Bond Strength Of Vita Markâ…¡to Enamel And Dentin Bonded With Different Resin Cements

ObjectiveThe aim was to compare the shear strength of three kinds of resin cements(self-adhesive resin cement RelyX U200, self-etch resin cement Panavia F and total-etch resin cement NX3) by bonding enamel / dentin with Vita Mark II.On the other hand,by etching enamel / dentin,we could fully understand the property of self-adhesive resin cement.This study was to provide a theoretical basis for clinical applications. MethodsResearch was divided into two parts:Experiment one:first,preparing sixty Vita Mark II ceramic blocks,then etching them with 9.6% HF and coating them with silane coupling agent. Secondly, preparing thirty enamel and thirty dentin slices,The following resin cements were luted according to the manufacturers’ instructions: RelyX U200,Panavia F,NX3.Shear bond strength was measured initially after 24 h of water storage 37?C.The failure types were evaluated after debonding.Experiment two:the tooth and Vita Mark II ceramic blocks were prepared as experiment one,and they were divided into four groups:RelyX U200 group,Panavia F group, NX3 group and H3PO4+U200 group.The first three groups were dealed as experiment one,H3PO4+U200 group were used after etching enamel for 30 s and dentin for 15 s.Shear bond strength was measured initially after 24 h of water storage 37?C.The failure types were evaluated after debonding. ResultsBoth enamel and dentin, the shear bond strengths of NX3 and Panavia F were not statistically significant while significantly higher than RelyX U200. When etched with H3PO4, the shear bond strength of RelyX U200 towards enamel is increased,but it is opposite towards dentin. ConclusionsThe shear bond strength of total-etch resin cement and self-etch resin cement to enamel and dentin are higher than self-adhesive resin cements. Clinically, self-adhesive resin cements can be used after etching enamel.
