| Anisomeles indica belongs to the Anisomeles genus of the Labiatae family. By far, seven species are found from the genera Anisomeles, which is distributed in most parts of the world and mainly in subtropics area. However, only Anisomeles indica exists in China. A. indica is a traditional Chinese medicine in folk. The whole plants of A.indica has long been used for the treatment of many diseases, including rheumatism, colds, fevers, abdominal pain, skin sores, snake bites, and so on. There has been a Chinese patent medicine, Guang Fang Feng capsule, related to A. indica. However, only a few studies on the phytochemicals of A. indica have been performed. And rare publication has the relationship between A. indica(or Anisomeles species) and other species from the Labiatae family. In this paper, according to the high medical value and unclear phytochemicals, a systematic study on the chemical compositions of A. indica was accomplished. At the same time, a relationship between A. indica(or Anisomeles species) and other species from the Labiatae family was also summarized. The thesis included two parts. The first part was a review on the phytochemical investigation of A. indica and Anisomeles species. The second part was the research on chemical constitutions of aerial part of A. indica.First, the phytochemical investigation of Anisomeles indica and Anisomeles species.A. indica belongs to the Anisomeles genus of the Labiatae family. Only a few chemical studies have been performed on the phytochemicals of A. indica. In order to research the possible chemotaxonomic pattern of A. indica, the chemical constitutions of Labiatae family was also summarized in this part.Secondly, the chemical constitutions of aerial part of Anisomeles indica.33 compounds were isolated and elucidated from aerial part of A. indica using a modern separation technology, including nitrogen-containing organic compound, megastigmane, diterpenoid, triterpenoid, polyphenol, benzene derivative glycoside, phenolic acid, megastigmane glycoside and nucleotide. As a result, 32 compounds were isolated for the first time from A. indica and Anisomeles genus, including a new compound, 2α,3α,19α-trihydroxyurs-12,20(30)-dien-28-oic acid. Compared with the chemical patterns reported from Anisomeles species and Labiatae family, we drawedthe conclusions as follows: 1) Two known compounds, rosmarinic acid and ursolic acid, were the main chemical constitutions of A. indica. Both of them have the anti-inflammatory and antibacterial activity, which might be the reason why A. indica could be used for the treatment of inflammatory sickness. 2) Megastigmanes and lignins were found for the first time from A. indica and Anisomeles geneus. The occurrence of megastigmanes and lignins enriched the diversity of skeleton compounds of the Anisomeles species. Furthermore, compared with other genus in Labiatae family, the discovery of megastigmanes and lignins from A. indica indicated that Anisomeles species shared the similar chemotaxonomic pattern with the other species belonging to the Labiatae family. 3) The occurrence of five nitrogen-containing organic compounds testified the existence of alkaloid in A. indica. 4) The phytochemical investigation on the other genera belonging to Labiatae family indicated that Anisomeles species shared the similar chemical pattern with other species of the Labiatae family. |
