ObjectiveEvaluation after postoperative spine infections after rehabilitation in patients with limb function, life satisfaction (quality of life), happiness (personal subjective mental state) and to study the spinal fusion surgery infection on patients’physical function and quality of life and psychological influence.MethodsThe basic data of all patients come from the medical record management system of Guangdong Province Traditional Chinese Medical Hospital. From 2008 to 2014,3233 patients with spinal fusion were performed in the Department of orthopedics, Guangdong Province Traditional Chinese Medical Hospital. Among them,71 cases were infected after spinal fusion operation, 42 cases of infection group can complete the follow-up (12 cases lost to follow-up,9 cases lost contact way,2 cases of death,1 cases of refusing to follow up), and 53 cases of normal rehabilitation patients were randomly selected, as the non-infected group. Review of the assessment of patients before surgery, records preoperative JOA score, VAS score, patient assessment recovery JOA score, VAS score, the SF36, GWB scale measurement, analysis and compared between the two groups of patients before and after the operation the JOA and VAS score; compared SF-36 score of the patients in both groups, evaluate patients’QOL(the quality of life); GWB scores in two groups were compared, evaluation two groups of the patient’s personal happiness.Preoperative scores of JOA and VAS in two groups of patients from patient medical records. Follow up of patients with JOA, VAS, SF36, GWB score, two groups of patients were followed up with a double blind score, take two groups of follow-up personnel score average.Statistical methods:using EXCEL software for double entry, using statistical products (Product and Service Solutions Statistical) SPSS 19 software for statistical analysis. The measurement data were analyzed by x±s means of descriptive analysis, and the normality test was carried out. The results were in accord with the normal distribution, and the t test was carried out. If the P value is less than 0.05, it has statistical significance.Results1 JOA score comparison:the two groups of patients after rehabilitation of the JOA score were higher than preoperative, with statistical significance (P<0.05); the two groups after the comparison of the JOA score difference was statistically significant (P<0.05)2 VAS score:after rehabilitation, the patients in the two groups VAS scores were lower than before operation (P<0.05); between the two groups compared preoperative VAS score had no statistical significance (P>0.05); rehabilitation after VAS score difference has statistical significance (P< 0.05).3 SF-36 scale scores of each dimension of comparison:the two groups of patients with physiological function PF, BP of body pain, general health GH and mental health (MH) and score difference has statistical significance (P <0.05) and non infection group was better than that of the patients in the infection group; physiological functions of RP, energy VT, social SF function, emotional function re and health changes in HT dimension scores were no statistical significance (P>0.05)4 GWB scale scores of each dimension of comparison:the two groups of patients on health concerns, depression or happy mood relaxation and tension (anxiety) and total etc. dimension score difference has statistical significance (P<0.05) and non infection group were better than in the infection group; energy, satisfaction and interest of life and the emotion and behavior control dimension scores were no statistical significance (P> 0.05).Gonelusion1 Postoperative Spine Infections patients after rehabilitation pain than before surgery significantly improved, but the symptoms did not complete remission, some patients have sequelae of chronic back and leg pain.2 after spinal fusion, the quality of life score and non infected patients after rehabilitation, there is no significant difference, after spinal fusion surgery will not affect the quality of life of patients with rehabilitation.3 after spinal fusion, the GWB scale score was significantly lower than that of non infected patients, and the infection after spinal fusion was lower than that of the patients.
