| Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy of LASEK in the treatment of myopia with corneal of critical thickness(central corneal thickness<480μm).Methods The paper makes a retrospective analysis of 111 cases (including 222 eyes) with thin corneal (central corneal thickness<480um) myopia patients, in January 2005 to March 2011 line of LASEK surgery,at the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University。Follow and record after surgical (more than five years) of Uncorrected visual acuity, dioptre, intraocular pressure, corneal epithelial healing time, corneal topography, corneal thickness, eye axis, operative complications, and so on.Result On the seventh day after surgery, all epithelial flaps were nearly transparent and most patients had postoperative irritation symptom such as wear eye pain, photophobia, tearing, eyewinker feeling but all could tolerate. Individual patients postoperative almost no irritation. Five to twenty days after operation,222 eyes had basic to preoperative best corrected visual acuity (BCVA),uncorrected visual acuity (UCVA)on average from 1.05±0.16,BCVA on average from 1.08±0.11.Five years after operation,200 eyes (90.10%%) had UCVA of≥1.0,220 eyes (99.10%)≥0.8,222 eyes(100%)≥0.6.The diopter tended to be stable after half a year and there was no statistically significant difference after half a year and 5a(P> 0.05), but there was statistical significance difference between each time point of postoperative and preoperative (P< 0.01). Surgical complications mainly for haze and high intraocular pressure. After surgery the morphological of corneal topography do show change, all the quota data within the normal range. We found no complications such as keratoconus. Conclusion LASEK is one of methods to treat myopia with with corneal of critical thickness(central corneal thickness<480μm)safely and effectively, and the long-term clinical effect is good. |
