Objective To explore the effects of systematic health education to family members for the compliance and the reslut of the maintenance hemodialysis patient’s treatment and provide guidance to help patients to choose the best home nursing. Methods This reasearch is a quasi-experimental study, began in May 2015,completed in August 2015, 98 cases of maintenance hemodialysis patients and their families were selected as the research subjects in the blood purification center of a tertiary hospital in Changsha. They were randomly divided into intervention group(49 patients) and control group(49 patients)according to the scheduled dialysis time. Regulation health education was conducted on patients and their families in control group, while the patients and their families in intervention group received systematic health education plus on the basis of the regulation health education, which including: improve the diet and fluid intake, medication and regular dialysis compliance education, dialysis related knowledge education and so on.The survey was carried out in three periods, including before intervention,6 weeks after intervention and 12 weeks after intervention, this survey using Medical treatment compliance scale to get the maintenance hemodialysis patients informations and usingHemodialysis knowledge questionnaire to get the patients’ s family informations, besieds, the interdialysis weight gain(IDWG), hemoglobin(HB), serum albumin(ALB) and serum phosphorus(P) of the patients was measured three times before and after and evaluating and comparing the effect of the intervention before and after. Using SPSS18.0 for data entry and analysis. General data using descriptive analysis, comparison between groups using t-test, Chi-square analysis and repetitive measurement and analysis of variance and so on.Results 1.Before the intervention, by comparising the two groups of patients general information and clinical data and the two groups of family members general information, concluded that the difference of comparison resluts was not statistically significant(P>0.05), is comparable. 2.After 6 weeks and 12 weeks intervention, the intervention group’s treatment adherence scored, dietary compliance scored and fluid intake compliance scored were higher than before intervention. After 12 weeks intervention, intervention group’s treatment adherence scored, dietary compliance scored, fluid intake compliance scored were significantly higher than control group. The intervention group’s treatment adherence scored, dietary compliance scored, fluid intake compliance scored enhancement was better than control group as time changes. The aboveresults were statistically significant(P<0.05). 3.After 6 weeks and 12 weeks intervention, the scores of hemodialysis knowledge of the intervention group families were higher than before intervention. Intervention group’s hemodialysis knowledge scored were significantly higher than control group after intervented 12 weeks. 4. 12 weeks after intervention, the intervention group IDWG was significantly lower than the control group, ALB was significantly higher than the control group, the cases of patients early end of dialysis was less than the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P< 0.05).Conclusion 1.Implementation of systematic health education on family members can improve the treatment compliance of maintenance hemodialysis patients. 2.The implementation of health education to the family members of MHD patients can improve theirs dialysis related knowledge. 3.Implementation of systematic health education on family members can improve the level of IDWG and ALB on maintenance hemodialysis patients.
