Objective:By investigating and analyzing the primary gastric carcinoma patients in Yancheng, to explore the related risk factors that affect the occurrence of gastric cancer, and to provide the references for the prevention of gastric cancer. Methods:From January,2013 to June,2014, all the cases of this study were selected from the inpatients of Yancheng No.1 Hospital and No.3 Hospital, who had lived in Yancheng more than 10 years. The 300 cases in the case group were selected from the new admitted patients who were diagnosed as primary gastric carcinoma, and 300 cases in the control group were selected from the inpatients with the same period, who were non-cancer and non-digestive disease. All the patients of study were investigated face to face by the trained investigators with the uniform designed tables. The main content of the questionnaire including:general conditions, lifestyle, family history of diseases, dietary habit and psychological factors, etc. The database were created by Excel 2003, and the data were analyzed by SPSS 19.0 and SAS 9.2. According to the type of data, we used different ways (X 2-test, rank sum test, logistic regression analysis of single factor) to do the single factor analysis. And we used the logistic regression model of multiple factors to do the multiple factor analysis. Results:Through the logistic regression analysis we found that the following factors correlated with primary gastric carcinoma:home address, drinking, no breakfast, eating disorders, often eating salted fish, shrimp, meat, fried food/baked food, moldy food, dried and hard food, garlic, using refrigerator, helicobacter pylori infection, experiencing negative event, have the pressure in living and working. The multi-factor logistic regression analysis result showed:the risk factor of primary gastric carcinoma were intaking fried food/baked food (OR=2.90,95%CI=1.800~4.67), no breakfast (OR=1.90,95%CI=1.24~2.90), eating disorders (OR=1.54,95%Cl=1.01-2.34), Helicobacter pylori infection (OR=0.49,95%CI=0.32-0.75,), having the pressure in living and working (OR=1.47, 95%CI=1.03~2.10). while refrigerator use (OR=0.62,95%CI=0.43-0.88) and moderate drinking (OR=0.52,95%CI=0.31-0.86) were the protective factors of primary gastric carcinoma. Conclusion:The primary gastric carcinoma in Yancheng are resulted from many risk factors. The comprehensive prevention and treatment measures should be taken to prevent the happening of primary gastric carcinoma.
