Background:Scalp acupuncture is widely used in the treatment of clinical disease, especially used in the treatment of brain-derived diseases, because of its simple, a significant effect, the advantages of safe and reliable especially used in the treatment of brain-borne diseases. But what exactly is the mechanism of scalp therapy? Based on the meridian system? Or with cortical neural regulatory mechanisms to explain, so far there is no unified conclusion. Clinical mechanisms for scalp has been a hot research, including cerebral blood flow, biochemical and neurophysiological level and so on. In recent years, functional magnetic resonance imaging with the advantage of its high security, high spatial and high temporal resolution has gradually become one of the main methods of acupuncture mechanism. Objective:To study scalp electro-acupuncture intervention on functional areas of the brain and explore the mechanism of scalp electro-acupuncture in the treatment of disease. Methods:We select 6 healthy volunteers served as subjects, remove MRI contraindications, go to the image center by MRI scans after dinner for about 18 points. After full communication, identify the experiment, volunteers are pushed into the MRI scans, wearing an eye mask and a headset, fixing the heads. We instruct the volunteers keeping head intact, turn off the lights, all these are to avoid pseudo-cortical activation, and then collect routine MRI scan and resting state data (510 s); After the acquisition, an experienced acupuncturist makes acupuncture (MS 6 and MS 7) for volunteers. Then we use scalp electro-acupuncture (waveform:the density wave, frequency:2/15 hz). The intensity of debugging related to the participants feeling beating but without the pain. After lOmin stimulation,We start the second resting state data collection (510 s). At last, we observe the ALFF of the acupuncture before and after.Results:6 cases of subjects after scalp acupuncture, cerebellum activation cluster is the most obvious, but also with the highest intensity of activation in the brain activation area. And left cerebellum is more obvious compared with the right cerebellum. Conclusion:Electrical stimulation on anterior and posterior oblique line of vertex-temporal can activate the the contralateral cerebellar; the anterior and posterior oblique line of vertex-temporal can cure disease in the contralateral; mechanism of scalp acupuncture may be associated with central effect mechanism.
