| Objective (s):To observe the effects of electroacupuncture at Ciliao:points in patients with neurogenic bladder after spinal cord injury.Methods:Twenty-two cases of patients with neurogenic bladder after spinal cord injury patients were randomly divided into two groups:the curative group (11 cases) received bladder function training combined with electroacupuncture, the control group (11 cases) was given bladder function training only. The voiding diary and the number of urinal pad used of two groups were recorded everyday. Before and 4 weeks after the treatment, urine flow dynamic test was used to evaluate the bladder urination function in two groups.Results:1. In curative group, the frequency of urgency and voiding, the maxinmum voided volume, the first sensation of bladder filling capacity and the residual urine volume after treatment were improved compared with those before treatment (p<0.05).2. In control group, all the above indexes, except of bladder pressure when using abdominal pressure after treatment were not improved significantly compared with those before treatment (p>0.05).3. Comparing the two groups after treatment, in curative group the first sensation of bladder filling capacity and the residual urine volume were significantly less than that in control group. The frequency of urgency and voiding and maxinmum voided volume in curative group were significantly higher than that in control group.Conclusion(s):1. Electroacupuncture at Ciliao points on neurogenic bladder after spinal cord injury is one of the effective and secure therapy in patients with neurogenic bladder.2. There were positive relationship between Electroacupuncture at Ciliao points and feeling of neurogenic bladder after spinal cord injury.3. Electroacupuncture at Ciliao points on neurogenic bladder after spinal cord injury mybe could decrease the urethral pressure. |
