Objectives:Discussing the curative effect of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) in the treatment of depressive episode under the guidance of the theory of spleen and stomach in combination with syndrome-differentiation of the six meridians, in order to make clear the feasibility and advantage of TCM for the treatment of depressive episode through the point of view. All objects of this study was to 1 January 2015 to December 2015 in the guangdong hospital of TCM, the first affiliated hospital of guangzhou medical college, the southern medical university. Patients with mild-to-moderate depressive episode were in accordance with the inclusive crite-ria. The total number of cases were 61 cases, of which Chinese tradition-al medicine group of 38 cases, western medicine group of 23 cases. Chine-se medicine group was given to buzhong yiqi decoction, comb-ining banxia-xiexin decoction/xiao chaihu decoction/danggui sini dect-oction/wensi be-ntun decoction, western medicine group was given zoloft treatment. The c-ourse is 4 weeks. To evaluate the curative effect of HAMD-17, SDS, SAS, PSQI, WHOQOL BREF respectively in different points of before, after, pro-cess treatment.Result:1. Main Outcome Measures(1) HAMD-17 efficient comparison:After 2 weeks treatment, the effic-ient of Chinese, western medicine group are 68.4%,47.8% respecttively, differences of the efficient comparison between two groups have statisti-cal significance(P<0.05); After 4 weeks treatment, the efficient of Chin-ese, western medicine group are 68.5%,82.6%, differences of the efficie-nt comparison between two groups have not statistical significance(P>0.0 5).(2) According to the illness severity stratification, the HAMD-17 to- tal score comparison:Before and after treatment, HAMD-17 total score co-mparison in Chinese medicine group of patients with mild and moderate d-epression are statistically significant difference(P<0.05). In patients w-ith mild depression, HAMD-17 average of Chinese, western medicine group are 11.50,12.38 respectively; after 2 weeks treatment, HAMD-17 average of two groups are 7.33,10.38 respecttively; differences of the average comparison between two groups have statistical significance(P<0.05).2. Secondary Outcome Measures(1) The SDS total score comparison:After 2 weeks,4 weeks treatment, SDS score of two groups compared with the baseline group, differences h-ave statistically significant(P<0.05). After 2 weeks,4 weeks treatment, two groups of SDS scores compared between groups, there are not statisti-cally significant difference(P>0.05).(2) The SAS total score comparison:After 2 weeks,4 weeks treatment, SAS score of two groups compared with the baseline group, differences h-ave statistically significant(P<0.05). After 2 weeks,4 weeks treatment, two groups of SAS scores compared between groups, there are no statistic-ally significant difference(P>0.05).(3) The PSQI total score comparison:After 4 weeks treatment, PSQI sc-ore of Chinese traditional medicine group compared with baseline group, differences have statistically significant(P<0.05), but there are no stat istically significant difference after 2 weeks treatment(P>0.05); After 2 weeks,4 weeks treatment, PSQI score of western medicine group compared with the baseline group, differences have not statistically significant (P>0.05).(4) Quality of Life score comparison:After 4 weeks treatment, quali-ty of life score of two groups compared with baseline group respecttively, differences have statistically significant(P<0.05), but there are no s-tatistically significant difference after 2 weeks treatment(P>0.05). At the same time, comparison between the two groups has not statistically s-ignificant difference(P>0.05). After 2 weeks,4 weeks treatment, physiol-ogical and psychological field score of Chinese traditional medicine gro-up compared with baseline group, diffe-rences have statistically signific ant(P<0.05). After 4 weeks treatment, physiological field score of weste-rn medicine group compared with baseline group, differences have statis- tically significant(P<0.05). After 2 weeks,4 weeks treatment, social and environment field score of two groups compared with the baseline group respecttively, differences have not statistically significant(P>0.05).3. The Basic Characteristics of Study Populations(1) The characteristics of populations:Patients with depressive ep-isode in this study,36 are female,25 are male, female male ratio is 1.4 4∶1; The average age is 31.11 years; Cultural level is high school or ab-ove, accounted about 78.69%.(2) Distribution characteristics of Chinese traditional medicine syn-drome type in TCM group:Taiyin group has 17 people, shaoyang group has 12 people, jueyin group has 6 people, shaoyin group has 3 people. Taiyin and shaoyang group account for 76.31%. After 2 weeks,4 weeks treatment, HAMD-17 total score of taiyin and shaoyang group compared with the basel-ine group respectively, differences have statistically significant(P<0.0 5).Conclusion:1. TCM under the guidance of the theory of spleen and stomach in com-bination with syndrome-differentiation of the six meridians, can signifi-cantly improve depression of patients with depressive episode, its effect appears earlier than western medicine zoloft, but the long-term effect is the same, so to a certain extent, TCM can replace western medicine z-oloft.2. TCM under the guidance of the theory treat mild depressive episode, its curative effect is superior to western medicine zoloft, therefore, We can just use Chinese medicine to intervene.3. TCM under the guidance of the theory can improve the sleep quality in patients with depressive episode, but the improvement of the western medicine zoloft to sleep is not obvious, therefore, we can use TCM inste-ad of western medicine zoloft to treat patients with mild and moderate d-epressive episode associated with sleep disorders.4. TCM under the guidance of the theory and western medicine zoloft can improve the subjective depression, anxiety in patients with depressi-ve episode, and both improve the level.5. TCM under the guidance of the theory and western medicine zoloft can improve quality of life in patients with depressive episode; but for physiological and psychological field of the quality of life, the improve ment of TCM is more significant than western medicine zoloft.6. For patients with mild and moderate depressive episode, if no obv-ious negative ideas or behavior, Chinese medicine treatment is the prima-ry method.7. This research group is given priority to with women, youth and hi-gh school above culture. TCM syndrome distribution is given priority to with taiyin and shaoyang syndrome.
