| ObjectiveTo promote the patients’rapid rehabilitation is a hotspot of research on abdominal surgery, its core is to reduce the traumatic stress and accelerate gastrointestinal functional recovery. Rapid rehabilitation concept was first proposed by a Danish doctor Kehlet, its safety and effectiveness has been confirmed, and it is gradually accepted in domestic and overseas. Therefore, Rapid rehabilitation measures have been widely applied in the surgical treatment of the colorectal cancer. Laparoscopic surgery has been wildly applied to the clinical surgeries due to its less trauma, clear surgical field, declining the body’s stress response, rapid postoperative recovery. At the same time, It has a huge impact on the recovery of gastrointestinal function. Chinese traditional medicine can effectively and efficiently promote the recovery of intestinal functions after abdominal operation. But as far as we know, there is little research about this subject of the recovery of gastrointestinal function after laparoscopic colorectal cancer surgery with combination of Chinese traditional medicine and fast tract surgery during the period of operation, either domestic or overseas, shengyangyiwei decoction has the function of invigorating spleen and eliminating dampness, it commonly used in patients with Spleen wet stagnation. In this study, we collected 76 cases of colorectal cancer patients hospitalized from December 2014 to December 2015, they were divided into the treatment group (shengyangyiwei decoction+rapid rehabilitation measures) and the control group (rapid rehabilitation measures). A case-control retrospective analyze was conducted to evaluate its clinical safety and efficacy.PurposeIn this investigation, a retrospective case-control study is used to prove its superiority compared to rapid rehabilitation programs through shengyangyiwei decoction in the fast track surgery of Laparoscopic Colorectal surgery.Methods76 eligible patients involved in this trial, including 39 cases in treatment group and 37 patients in control group. Rapid rehabilitation measures were used in the control group, including preoperative education, intraoperative heat preservation, early-stage feeding etc. shengyangyiwei decoction was given in the treatment group on the first postoperative day until the first defecation, Other are the same as the control group. The baseline information of the patients, such as gender, age, anesthesia time, operating time, the diameter of tumors, the operation method, pathologic stage, length of hospital stay, hospital cost. The observing targets including the first anorectum exhaust time, the first defecation time, gastrointestinal symptoms, including abdominal distention, abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting. The postoperative fatigue rating on 1st,3rd and 5th day. postoperative complications (anastomotic leakage, pulmonary infection, deep vein thrombosis, urinary tract infections, etc).ResultsThe difference between the two groups on gender, age, anesthesia time, operating time, the diameter of tumors, the operation method, pathologic stage were not significant (P> 0.05). The treatment group contrast with the control group, the first anorectum exhaust time, the first defecation time significantly ahead of schedule (P<0.05). At 3〠5th day after operation, the treatment group in abdominal pain, abdominal distention and the postoperative fatigue rating are better than the control group, the difference is statistically significant (p< 0.05). shortened hospital stay (P<0.05) hospital cost is reduced (P<0.05), and postoperative complications without increasing. ConclusionUnder the guidance of the concept of fast track surgery, shengyangyiwei decoction can effectively and efficiently ahead of the gastrointestinal function recovery time, alleviate postoperative gastrointestinal symptoms, relieve the postoperative fatigue, promote the patients’rapid recovery, and the incidence of postoperative complications without increasing, so it worthy of popularization in clinic. |
