| Objective:To investigate the potential risk factors and preventive measures of chronic tonsillitis in children.Materials and Methods:Establish "General questionnaire of children with chronic tonsillitis" and "Related factors questionnaire of chronic tonsillitis in children". We collected questionnaires in 119 children who had undertaken tonsillectomy in Yanbian university hospital. In order to comparision,we also collected questionnaires in 119 normal children who was studying at kindergarten and primary school in Yanji. Statistical charts were made by JMP10.0 software and all of the data were analyzed by SPSS 17.0. Chi-square test, Mann-Whitney U test and Logistic analysis were used to compare the differences between two groups. Results:Univariate analysis showed that caesarean birth (P<0.01), family history (P<0.01), allergic history (P<0.01) vegetable intake frequency (P<0.01), fried food intake frequency (T<0.01), fruit intake frequency (P<0.05) were associated with chronic tonsillitis in children. Multivariate Logistic regression analysis results showed that the caesarean birth, family history, history of allergies, vegetables intake frequency (P<0.01) are associated with chronic tonsillitis in children, of which the caesarean birth, family history and allergic history were positively correlated, their the odds ratio (OR) values were 2.895 (1.554,1.554),3.105 (1.518,1.518) and 1.518 (1.305,1.305) respectively; on the contrary, vegetables intake frequency was negative correlation with chronic tonsillitis in children, the OR value was 0.438 (0.295,0.295).Conclusions:1. Caesarean birtbu family history and allergic history are the risk factor of chronic tonsillitis in children.2.Eating vegetables is the protective factor of chronic tonsillitis in children. |
