Objectives:To observe the infrared thermal image of the acute peripheral facial paralysis, exploring the distributive situation of different temperature regions and the change of the temperature difference on both sides. To observe the clinical efficacy of treatment with plum-blossom needle tapping the different temperature regions in the acute phase and it’s impact on the treatment duration of peripheral facial paralysis.Methods:1.60 patients were all from the Department of Rehabilitation and Neurology in Xiamen Haicang Hospital during October,2014 to December,2015.They were divided into two groups randomly, including the plum-blossom needle group (the treatment group) and the acupuncture needle group(the controlling group),30 cases in each group. In the acute phase, the treatment group was treated with plum-blossom needle tapping the different temperature regions, and another group was treated with superficial acupuncture. After the acute phase, the two groups were all treated with general acupuncture until the end of treatment. Evaluate each patient’s facial nerve function according to the House-Brackmann (H-B) evaluation system before and after treatment. Then compare the clinical efficacy and the treatment duration of peripheral facial paralysis.2.To observe the distributive situation of different temperature regions and the change of the temperature difference on both sides in the acute facial paralysis patients according to the infrared thermal image.Results:1.Compare the therapeutic effects:After the treatment, they were all improved on the facial nerve function evaluation(P<0.05).The two groups got significant differences in the severity after the treatments (P<0.05).Compare the clinical efficacy:in the treatment group,24 cases were cured,4 cases were remarkable effected and 1 case got good effect, the total effective rate was 96.67%;and in the controlling group,18 cases were cured,2 case with remarkable effects,6 cases got good effect, the total effective rate is 86.67%.The treatment group was better than the controlling group in the clinical efficacy, they got significant differences (P<0.05).2. Compare the treatment duration:In the treatment group, the average number of treatment days is 23.37±1.215; and in the controlling group, the number is 27.30±1.211.They got significant differences in the treatment duration comparison(P<0.05).3. The distributive situation and performance of different temperature region in the acute phase: 60 patients’different temperature region was shown as high temperature. The distribution results were 41.25% in the mouth area,23.75%in the ear peripheral region,18.75% in the cheek region,10% in the forehead area,6.25% around the nose.4. The change of the temperature difference on both sides in the acute phase:In the controlling group, temperature difference increases over time; and in the treatment group, the first three days, temperature difference increases, but stabilize soon and gradually decreases.Conclusion:1.Use the plum-blossom needle tapping the different temperature regions in the acute phase will stable or reduce the temperature difference, improve the clinical efficacy and shorten the treatment duration.2. In the acute phase, the different temperature region of the facial paralysis patient is shown as high temperature. The distributive situation in descending order is the mouth area, the ear peripheral region, the cheek region, the forehead area, around the nose area. |
