ObjectiveTo understand the psychological status of patients with HIV/AIDS, study their mental symptoms and provide ideas for clinical treatment of traditional Chinese medicine. Besides, according to characteristics of the mind of the HIV/AIDS, discuss TCM diagnosis and treatment methods of the HIV/AIDS patients’mental symptoms.MethodsAdopt collection table of AIDS’four TCM diagnostic information. Analyze data with SPSS software. This study had 2234 patients with HIV/AIDS. Analyze common information by descriptive analysis. Count frequency of mental symptoms by Kruskal-Wallis Test, the symptoms’score of the second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth visitation are compared with first visitation, analyze the changes of symptoms in the process and related factors.According to related literature about mental symptoms, discuss etiology pathogenesis and treatment of Shenpi, fatigue, insomnia, irritability, depression and amnesia.ResultsShenpi, fatigue, insomnia, irritability, depression and amnesia occurred frequently and were more serious. Shenpi, amnesia and headache fluctuated, amnesia and headache were relieved with the disease becoming better. However, other symptoms existed continuously, fatigue, insomnia, irritability, depression occurred frequently and seriously.ConclusionsThis study showed that HIV/AIDS patients have serious mental symptoms, including Shenpi, fatigue, insomnia, irritability, depression and amnesia. Some symptoms existed continuously, but some fluctuated. It showed mental symptoms should be taken more attention.
