Objectives:1. The application of sacral laminoplasty in the treatment of symptomatic Tarlov cyst;2. To evaluate the efficacy of sacral laminoplasty technique in the treatment of symptomatic Tarlov cysts;3. To make theoretical preparation for the surgery application of the Sacral laminoplasty in sacral canal lesions. Methods:Case information:27 patients suffer symptomatic Tarlov cyst received microsurgical treatment in our department from 2010 to 2015 random sampling of a group of patients (15 of 27) for the reconstruction group (A group). The remaining as the control group (B group); Operation methods:two groups of patients received posterior sacral fenestration, microscope assisted resection of the cyst wall, closed cyst communicating hole with cavity glutin sponge. Reconstruction group (A group), the use of titanium mesh,5mm tapping screws for reconstruction. After indwelling drainage tube suture the skin. Control group (B group) indwelling drainage tube and suture the skin; Data statistics processing:Evaluate of the clinical manifestations of the patients with JOA score before and after the operation, count statistics based on the rate of improvement in the treatment. Using SPSS22 software for statistical analysis, statistical test method using chi-square test, comparative analysis of the effectiveness of sacral canal reconstruction. Results:The mean follow-up time was 12 months, group A:the rate of improvement of 11 cases scored≥50%,4 case scored<50%. In group B, the rate of improvement of 3 cases scored≥50%,9 cases scored<50%. During the follow-up period, all 27 patients did not suffer sacral canal cyst recurrence. The difference was statistically significant (χ2=6.238, p=0.021<0.05).Conclusions:Sacral laminoplasty should be performed in the microsurgical treatment of the patients who got clear diagnosis with symptomatic Tarlov cysts and suffered obvious symptoms which can reconstruct the sacral canal anatomical structure and significantly improve the neurological symptoms of the patients.
