| Objective: To make a comparison for the elderly between laparoscopic right colon resection and laparotomy in order to evaluate the clinical value of laparoscopic surgery in colon tumor. Methods: Fifty-seven colon cancer patients(≥70 years) from The First Hospital Of Lanzhou University and the Fourth Hospital of Tianshui City were included in this study from February 2013 to June 2015. The subjects were randomly divided into two groups(L group) and(O group), with 30 cases undergoing laparoscopic right hemicolectomy, other 27 cases undergoing laparotomy right hemicolectomy. A comparative analysis was made between two groups in operative time, blood loss, the number of intraoperative lymph node dissection, the rate of anastomotic fistula, rate of surgical wound infection, length of stay and hospital costs. Results: All the cases were completed the surgery successfully. The items of two groups in age, gender, tumor Dukes stage, complications pre-operation were not significantly different. The operative time of the O group was significantly shorter than the L group(P<0.05). The O group had more blood loss than the L group(P<0.05). There was not statistical significances between two groups for the number of intraoperative lymph node dissection and the anastomotic fistula(P>0.05). The L group is obviously better than O group in scores of surgical wound infection and length of stay(P<0.05).More hospital costs appeared in the L group(P<0.05).Conclusion: Laparoscopic right hemicolectomy was safe and feasible for the senile patients except expensive cost. |
