Objective:Persons with systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE) are at high risk of atherosclerosis(AS). The goals of this study is to determine the character of atherosclerotic progression among persons with SLE,and to determine which is the independent risk factor for AS in SLE.Methods: A study of 89 SLE patients from the Tianjin Medical University General Hospita. All of them were measure carotid intima-media thickness.Collect the data of clinical and laboratory.SLE without AS include the patients’ c IMT<0.9mm,SLE with AS include patients’ c IMT≥0.9mm.Contrast the characteristic of two groups.Use multiple logistic regression analysis these character.Results:1. 19.1% SLE with AS. SLE with AS increased with increasing incidence with age.The patients under 20 years old without AS.7.7% SLE patients with AS who among twenty to thirty years old. 16.7% SLE patients with AS who among thirty to fourty years old.21.4% SLE patients with AS who upon fifty years old.2.BMI in SLE with AS group was obviously higher than SLE without AS group(P<0.01). The incidence of hypertension was higher than SLE without AS group(P<0.01). Triglyceride in SLE with AS group was higher than SLE without AS group(P<0.05).Hyperhomocy in SLE with AS group was higher than SLE without AS group(P<0.05).Fibrinogen in SLE with AS group was higher than SLE without AS group(P<0.05). Homocysteine in SLE with AS group was higher than SLE without AS group(P<0.05). C-reactive protein in SLE with AS group was higher than SLE without AS group(P<0.05).24 hours urinary protein levels in SLE with AS group higher than SLE without AS group((P<0.05). Anticardiolipin antibody higher in SLE with AS group than SLE without AS group(P<0.05). Multiple Logistic regression analysis showed that age, SLEDAI is SLE with AS independent risk factors.Couclusion:1. SLE with AS increased with increasing incidence with age 2. Age, obesity, hypertension,SLE active, triglyceride, fibrinogen, hyperhomocy, c-reactive protein, 24 hours urinary protein levels elevate, positive of anticardiolipin antibody and can’t use of hydroxychloroquine treatment releat to SLE with AS. 3. Age, SLEDAI score is SLE with AS independent risk factors.
