Objective: To investigate the efficacy and safety of the method, superior laryngeal nerve block(SLNB) compound general anesthesia for the cleft lip repairing operation to infants. Methods: 67 cases of infant patients(37 cases of males and 30 cases of females) with ASAâ… -â…¡ have been chosen. These children have had cleft lip surgery during 1,2013 to 11,2015 and randomly divided them into two groups:A(n=33),B(n=34).The 33 patients in group A used general anesthesia induction,The other 34 patients in group B used superior laryngeal nerve block(SLNB) compound general anesthesia and keeping their own respiration, got them intubated and maintained by intravenous inhalation combined anesthesia. All the infants were forbidden to eat and drink as the operation routine. BNP(Blood pressure), HR(Heart rate), SPO2(Saturation of pulse oximetry) and ETCO2(End-tidal carbon dioxide)were monitored at the time of before anesthesia(T1), before intubaction(T2), induction(T3), after induction 3min(T4), after induction20min(T5),after extubation 3min(T6) and after extubation 30min(T7). The situation of extubation, the dosage of the anesthetic during the surgery, The recovery time of awareness and the postoperative complications were recorded. Results: One case of tracheal intubation was fail in groupA,and none in groupB; There was significant statistical different in adverse effects rate of tracheal intubation between groupB and groupA(P<0.05); The dosage of the anaesthetic in groupB was fewer than groupA(P<0.05); The recovery times in groupB was shorter than groupA(P<0.05); The postoperative complications in group B was less than group A(P<0.05); The symptoms of agitated in B group was less than group A(P<0.01);Sedation was superior to groupA(P<0.05).Conclusion: Compared with general anesthesia, the anesthesia effect of superior laryngeal nerve block(SLNB) compound general anesthesia can effectively reduce the adverse effect rate of tracheal intubation, the dosage of the anaesthetic, the recovery time and the postoperative complications, make tracheal intubation safer. So this method is safe and efficacious and has the value to promotion.
