Objective:To detect the serum levels of angiopoietin-like protein 2(ANGPTL 2) and vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) in patients with rheumatoid arthritis,to analyze the fucntion and differential diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis(RA),in order to clarify whether they are synergetic in the pathogenesis of RA.Methods:From March 2015 to November 2015 in the first hospital of Shanxi Medical University, 80 patients with rheumatoid arthritis were selected. They can measure up to the classification standard of ACR or Europe Leagues Against Rheumatism(EULAR) passed in 2010. 25 outpatients for heath examination in the same period was the healthy control group.According to the relevant clinical information, the RA patients were divided into three subgroups: high disease activity group(DAS28>5.1), moderate disease activity group(3.2<DAS28≤5.1), low disease activity group( DAS28≤3.2).With Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assays, we tested the serum level of ANGPTL2 and VEGF of those groups. The data were analyzed by t test,chi-square test,Mann-Whitney U test,Kruskal-Wallis H test and Speraman correlation analysis.Results:(1) The serum levels of ANGPTL2 and VEGF in RA patients were significantl y higher than those in control group[5.26(1.07)ng/ml vs3.28(0.88)ng/ml,Z=-5.7974,P<0.05;105.03(32.04)pg/ml vs 92.90(12.24)pg/ml,Z=-3.743,P<0.05];(2)Serum level of ANGPTL2 of RA high disease activity was higher than low disease group and healthy control group[5.71(1.27)ng/ml vs 3.59(0.77)ng/ml,H=5.729,P<0.05;5.71(1.27)ng/ml vs 3.28(0.88)ng/ml,H=7.162,P<0.05],but it was not higher i n RA high disease activity than moderate disease activity group[5.71(1.27)ng/ml vs5.08(0.86)ng/ml,H=2.407,P>0.05];Serum level of VEGF of RA high disease activity was higher than moderate disease activity group, low disease group and healthy co ntrol group[116.26(36.57)pg/ml vs 100.17(25.60)pg/ml,H=3.758,P<0.05;116.26(36.57)pg/ml vs 92.04(10.78)pg/ml,H=4.603,P<0.05;116.26(36.57)pg/ml vs 92.90(12.24)pg/ml,H=5.554,P<0.05];(3) There was a positive correlation between the serum level of ANGPTL2 an d DAS28,erythrocyte sedimentation rate, swollen joint count and tender joint count(r D A-S28=0.724,r ESR=0.36,r SJC=0.514,r TJC=0.677,P<0.05),so was VEGF(r DAS28=0.587,r ESR=0.296,r SJC=0.434,r TJC=0.567,P<0.05);(4) In RA patients, there was a positive correlation between ANGPTL2 and VEGF(r=0.858,P<0.05).Conclusion:ANGPTL2 might coordinate with VEGF to be involved in the immune process of RA,and it might be regarded as one of the reference indexes of RA activity,so that it may contribute to access and monitor the condition of RA.
