| Objective: To explore the relationship between omentin-1, FMD and CIMT by detecting the level of omentin-1 and FMD in essential hypertension patients with carotid arteriosclerosis, we can assess the degree of progression of essential hypertension and carotid arteriosclerosis; moreover, it can provide us still reliable theoretical basis for the prevention and treatment of essential hypertension and carotid arteriosclerosis.Methods: Firstly, each of 238 essential hypertension patients was performed ultrasonography of carotid artery. Then, according to CIMT all these patients were divided into three groups: one was essential hypertension with carotid IMT normal group including 130 patients, one was essential hypertension with carotid artery intima thickening group including 44 patients, and another was essential hypertension with carotid artery plaque group including 64 patients. Controls in this study were 60 healthy people. Secondly, Blood samples were collected in all subjects, for the detection of biochemical indices and the level of omentin-1; all subjects were also determined FMD levels. At last, we analyzed whether omentin-1 and FMD were connected with CIMT or not through statistical software.Results: ⑴ There were no statistical differences in age, sex, BMI, FPG, TC, LDL, HDL(all P>0.05). SBP, DBP and TG were higher in essential hypertension group than that in control group(all P<0.05). However, there were no statistical differences in SBP, DBP, TG and the use of antihypertensive drugs and statins in essential hypertension group(all P>0.05). ⑵①The level of omentin-1 was lower in essential hypertension group than in controls. In essential hypertension group, the level of omentin-1 in essential hypertension with carotid IMT normal group( 29.62±3.63)ng/m L, essential hypertension with carotid artery intima thickening group( 22.27±3.50) ng/m L, essential hypertension with carotid artery plaque group( 16.17±3.45)ng/m L reduced in turn, the difference was significant(all P<0.05).②The level of FMD was lower in essential hypertension group than in controls. In essential hypertension group, the level of FMD in essential hypertension with carotid IMT normal group( 7.39±1.95) %, essential hypertension with carotid artery intima thickening group( 5.32±2.25)%, essential hypertension with carotid artery plaque group( 3.48±1.93) % reduced in turn, the difference was significant(all P<0.05).⑶ The level of omentin-1 and FMD were both negatively related to SBP 〠DBP and CIMT by the Pearson correlation coefficients(all P<0.001).Conclusions: The level of omentin-1 and FMD were both negatively related to SBP, DBP and CIMT showed us that the level of omentin-1 and FMD were closely related with the degree of EH and CAS. With the aggravation of EH and CAS, the level of omentin-1 and FMD were reduced. |
