Objective: In order to evaluate the Tei index of right ventricular in pulmonary hypertension patients at a high altitude, we adopted a method of pulsed wave Doppler tissue imaging(PW-TDI).Methods: The study data were obtained from 30 pulmonary hypertension patients treated and hospitalized in Qinghai University Affiliated Hospital and 30 of control group from November to December in 2014. Right ventricular anteroposterior diameter, right atrial transveral diameter and pulmonary trunk diameter of all subjects were conventionally measured using ultrasound. We calculated the Tei index of cor dextrum at the anterior tricuspid leaflet from the apical four chamber view with DTI, wrote up patients’ basic information, and analysed and processed the data and results with statistical analysis.Results:(1) Pulmonary arterial hypertension group before and after the diameter of right ventricle, right atrium diameter, pulmonary artery diameter increased significantly compared with normal control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).(2).Peak systole velocity(s) and peak systole velocity(e) in pulmonary hypertension group were slower than control group, while the Tei index was relatively higer. All three parameters are with statistical significance(P<0.05).Conclusion:We came to a conclusion that inside the body of pulmonary hypertension patients, right ventricle Tei index raised, indicating its function declination. This offered a non-invasive and convenient detection method of clinical assessment of right cardiac function for pulmonary hypertension patients.
