Objective To explore the present situation on diagnosis of neonatal sepsis. Methods The articles published in the pubmed database from 2012 to 2016 on diagnosis of neonatal sepsis were searched, and the mesh terms appeared in the searched articles were analyzed. Mesh terms frequency statistics and the co-occurrence analysis were made based on co-word cluster analysis method. Biocomb and spss17.0 were used for co-occurrence analysis. Results A total of 670 papers were included, 3119 mesh terms in all, and 31 high-frequency mesh terms were extracted. C-reaction protein/analysis is the highest frequency which appeared 11 times. The current hotspots of research on diagnosis of neonatal sepsis were displayed, and the relationship between different high-frequency mesh terms was presented. The hot topics of diagnosis of neonatal sepsis are summarized as five aspects,these are 1) protein precursor and cytokines 2)immunitomics and Metabolomics 3) molecular biology technology to help diagnose neonatal sepsis 4)genes and neonatal sepsis 5)physical changes when neonatal sepsis. Conclusions Combination of several indicators to diagnosis neonatal sepsis is the major method, some new indicators are under searching.
