Zhang Ailing was a famous modern authoress in China. She was lived in1930s~1940s, the evolution and variation period of Chinese women’s literature. The‘May Fourth’ New Culture Movement hastened the awaking of female consciousness.New culture and/or new thought have been shocking people’s, especially female minds.The appearances of women’s literature have been changed a lot ever since. Zhang hasmade up a series of female characters of1940s with her female feeling, uniquerepresent sentences, exquisite psychological analysis and adept language skills. Bydescribing the weak dependent appearances and tragic female’s destinies which wasunder male’s control, Zhang presented a picture of fickleness of the world throughouther articles, and deeply analysis the culture sources of it. Hayashi Fumiko was an famousauthoress in Japan during Showa era, in which the modern literature in Japan began toform and be developed and the modern European thought was inbursted. On the onehand, the Japanese women were inevitably affected by textbook copied from Europeanand the enlightenment books in previous periods in the fierce numbers of the civilizationstream; On the other hand, they were repressed by feudal patriarchal domination that shintotrends of the countries of the rule of the Meiji government is based on the feudal family andfamily members belong to parents as Japanese subjects looked up to their emperor. TheJapanese women not only detected the oppression of feudal family, but also issued the againstvoice through the literature. The theme of Hayashi Fumiko’s works were the female and thedestiny of women, which were keen insight and penetration for the existence of the womenand reflected on Women’s way of life, life experiences, and survival road.Authoresses have their unique ideas and perspectives seeing from the social observationand understanding. They explored love psychology, women’s desire and complex emotions ofthe complex human social life naturally. Zhang Ailing and Hayashi Fumiko had manysimilarities in the female views and female perspective.In their literary works, most women were attached to men for the survival or incur unfortunately because of men, the viewpoint of the male as the center of society was criticized.However, the work performance of female consciousness was different for the differentgrowing experience and accepting culture thought. In this paper, four aspects following weredemonstrated using the method of the parallel research of comparative literature.In the first part, the literature activities and background of Zhang Ailing and HayashiFumiko were introduced, in which the importance of female literature was revealed throughthe analyzing of the two the writer’s creation career. The status of the modern womenliterature of the two countries was understood by understanding the two the writer’s creationbackground. In the second part, an unscrambling was made in Zhang’s and Hayashi Fumiko’sarticles on four aspects (e.g. criticism of the male rights, female figures, male figures andsenses of the tragic). In the third part, a compare was established in the ways of femaleconsciousness expressions between Zhang’s and Hayashi Fumiko’s articles. In the fourth part,the female consciousness were expressed in the works of the two the writer’s were closelyrelated to their family environment, education background and thoughts.Until now, many studies on these two authoresses have been down respectively at everyaspect. However, comparative study between them was seldom done. It happened that theywere both active at the same period of the rise of female literature in China and Japan. In thisarticle, a parallel study was made between the novels written by them to explore thesimilarities and differences between these two authoresses and their national culture systems.
