Uyghur Burial Architectural Culture

Uyghur natured a peculiar architecture style because of their abundant religiousculture and multiculture along with the unique geographical environment. The burialarchitectural culture is not only the important material and spiritual wealth amongthem, but also a significant part of study of Uyghur culture.This thesis is going to analyze the Uyghur burial architecture and how itinterrelates with its geographical environment, religious and multiculture, from theperspective of ethnology and anthropology of religion. Additionally, give priority tofiled research of ethnology and cultural anthropology, get down to the metropolisesin Xinjiang, then conduct-in depth interviews in order to obtain as vast first-handinformation as possible. On this basis, the thesis attempts to depict Uyghur burialarchitecture and it looks to extract and purify the theoretical analysis.Besides, doing the research, this thesis is trying to figure out the cultural identityof Uyghur burial architecture, which includes the tradition, types, features and themodern condition of Uyghur burial architectural culture. Furthermore, the inheritanceof Uyghur burial architectural culture is the main research contents in this thesis aswell.This thesis is divided into four chapters, the specific content has the followingseveral aspects.Chapter1Introduction.The purpose and significance of the topic, the definition and research situationof burial architectural culture and the basic situation of field research is clearlydemonstrated and it also includes the describing field research point, the currentresearch status at home and abroad then in comprises the research methods used inthis paper as well.Chapter2This chapter describes the main factors that form the Uyghur burial architecture.In order to better understand the Uyghur burial architectural culture, the chapterdescribes the natural geographical environment, religious, multiculture factors andother issues in details. Besides, natural geographical environment, in which thefundamental factor of the formation of Uyghur burial architecture. Its naturalenvironment is characterized by large area of deserts, open areas, drought, denudedof trees impact on the Uyghur burial architecture are described. In second section, combined with related research materials and it explains the different religions andtheir evolution influence on the Uyghur burial architectural culture, from theperspective of the influence of Shamanism, Buddhism and Islam on the Uyghurburial architecture culture.From the third chapter to the fourth chapter is the core content of the wholethesis. Which include the Uyghur burial building structure, the classification of thetomb appendages,Islamic style of burial building, burial customs and related newtrend of contemporary Uyghur burial architecture. Clarified characteristics such asnationality, locality and time of the Uyghur burial buildings.
