| Buddhism was spread from north India to China via,through Silk-road, Xinjiangwas the first station. Since entered into Xinjiang, Buddhism had almost spreaded allplaces in a short time. Besides, it arrived at interior China. No matter where was inXinjiang or Inland, Buddhism were starting the process of localization. WhileBuddhism was localized, it was accompanied with the interactions with the cultures ofBuddhism between all regions, the murals in Xinjiang Grotto were the evidencesabout exchanges. This study by the background of this exchange.The chapter1is an introduction, which explain the reasons and meaning aboutthe selection of this subject. And some concepts of this paper are defined in thisparagraph, a few achievements are retrospected. The second chapter as the part oftotal state which introduces the overview of the Grottoes in Xinjiang, also clarifies thecentral plain style grottos.Chapter III to the fifth chapter is the main parts of the paper. The third chapterwhich illustrate the musical instruments in the grottoes. There were amounts ofmurals about musical instruments, such as Qiming instruments(气鸣ä¹å™¨ï¼‰ï¼ŒStringedinstruments, Timing instruments(体鸣ä¹å™¨ï¼‰ï¼ŒMoming instruments(膜鸣ä¹å™¨ï¼‰andso on, in one word, all kinds of instruments in there. It is a fact that a few of theseinstruments entered into inland early, and then went back to Xinjiang after many years,by analyzing these murals. This progress was exchanges too. In addition, the chapter4investigates the pattern which belongs to central plain style. There are manylandscape paintings and architectural drawings, figure paintings and so on. Eventhough someone of them owned local elements, a great many of them belong withCentral Plains cultures. The last chapter explores the inscriptions. Inscriptions wereonly text records in Xinjiang Grotto; they included autographs and standings title. Theautographs got the records of the dependents informations. Standings title was thesupplementary explanation about paintings.Grotto Murals came from Central Plains to Xinjiang, witnessing tocommunication with each other, and being text material to study of this history. Alarge number of Central Plains-style murals showed the exchanges between two regions. Of course, it changed with religions`developments. |
