| During daily communication, people always want to avoid some vulgar,impolite or taboo words to make their conversation smooth and successful. Therefore,euphemism emerged. It is well known that euphemism is a culture-loaded languagephenomenon. In daily translation study and practice, the author finds that euphemismsare used everywhere. However, due to cultural differences and other factors,translation of Chinese euphemism has become a difficult task. Studies on thetranslation of Chinese euphemism are far from enough and many of them lacktheoretical guidance. Therefore, this paper, under the guidance of Skopostheorie,carries out a study on the translation of Chinese euphemism of different categories,hoping to make Chinese euphemism known by more countries, promote cross-culturalcommunication and enrich the culture of the target language. |
