Herbert Marcuse is the important member of Frankfurt school and the most influentialone in the western Marxism. He proceed from the flourishing industry social reality andformed his science technique critical theory on the basis of drawing to take Marx, Floyd,Heidegger, Horkheimer and Adorno’s excellent thought achievements.Marcuse think that because of the rapid development of science and technology,thepeople lived in the capitalist society lost negative,critical and outstrip to the degree, thus thewhole society express an one-dimension. Specific performance in: society, human, thoughtand culture. He filled to profoundly analyze the alienation and crisis which concealed in fakeprosperity of society by a special angle of view. But his theories by no means end with atthe criticism. He also carried on homologous theoretical exploration for how to walk out thepredicament of science technology. Marcuse thought we should relieve eroticism andbuilding up a society with no depressive eroticism and personality freedom. Meanwhile,healso put forward his own revolution theory and by "culture abnegation" revolutionary theoryto resist capitalist society. Marcuse pointed out the neutrality and permeability of scienceand technology and classified the real demands and the deceitful needs of human which isthe most valuable and enlightened part of his theories. Limitations of his theory mainlyperformance at didn’t analyze the basic contradictions of society for the exploration ofproblem of alienation of human nature, and the false understanding of the working class’shistorical position and the absurdity of his revolutionary view.The science and technique criticism theory of Marcuse can profoundly criticize andintrospect on the capitalist society’s reality and have the realistic significance to thesocialism of modernization construction. We should to avoid following western society asfar as possible. Not only to develop the economy, but also to concern mankind, makingpeople get all-round development from matter to the spirit.
