Folk songs are always time-honored. Originating in the production process ofgeneral public, they are marvelous treasures of history. China possesses vast territory,with distinct dialects springing from every corner of this land. As the carrier of folksong, dialects make it permeate with rich local color and flavor. Thus, our Chinesefolk songs can keep flourishing and uphold their unique characteristics. HenanProvince is the hometown of the author. Therefore, this thesis makes an analysis onminor key songs of Nanyang ballad. Through the examples of “Hong Wawa” and“Xiu Hebao”, the author explores the artistic features and mastering approach of theseworks. A foundation of understanding and presenting Nanyang minor key songs isalso build. By practicing this kind of folk songs on the stage, more people will feeltheir charm and luster, pondering on their rich connotations.
