The Research For Pu Qilong And His DuDuXinJie (The Spiritual Of Dufu’s Poems)

DuDuXinJie(the spiritual of DuFu’s poems)of Pu Qilong’s,QanZhuDuShi of Qian Qianyi’s, DuShiXiangZhu of Qiu Zhao’ao’s and DuShiJingQuan of Yang Lun’s are considered as the most important annotated readings of the poems of Du Fu. From the beginning, SiKuOuanShu has criticized the style of DuDuXinJie. However, DuDuXinJie’s academic importance was not impacted. This thesis will inquire into the writing process of DuDuXinJie based on the original manuscript of the DuDuXinJie collected in Nanjing Library.The paper is composed of five parts:The first section is an introduction, mainly explains the purpose and significance of the topic, primarily by giving a general idea about the related researches about this topic in the academic field. In the end. This part also gives explanations about the methods adopted in the research and what contributions and innovations this paper would bring forth.The second section is Chapter one. This part gives a research on the life of Pu Qilong, his other works, different versions of DuDuXinJie and his intention of writing DuDuXinJie and the writing process. At first, this work aimed find out all the possible versions of DuDuXinJie and Pu Qilong’s some other works in different libraries. Based upon all the research, I will depict the situation of how the author Pu Qilong started his work. The third part:Chapter second analyzes the style of DuDuXinJie. It compares DuDuXinJie with some other annotated readings of the poems of Du Fu concerning three different aspects:the way how they annotated the poems, the ordering of the poems and the criticism the authors have upon the poems. From Pu Qilong’s idea, it’s necessary to explain Du Fu’s poems as well as to analyze these poems. He stressed the importance of explaining these poems. When he sorted the poems, he put these poems in chronological order, which showed his work’s distinctive feature:historical and conclusive. The innovation reveals to us his unique perspective.The fourth section:Chapter third research of manuscript. Introduces different versions of DuDuXinJie. After a thorough and careful scrutinization of relevant writings, especially by comparing and contrasting the manuscript and printed edition of DuDuXinJie, this part lists out the differences between the manuscript and printed edition of DuDuXinJie, give the reasons of these changes and compare the values of the printed edition and manuscript. As a conclusion, the manuscript of DuDuXinJie has a significantly important historical value compared with the the printed edition because the manuscript of DuDuXinJie serves better when people try to understand the background of DuDuXinJie. Many different researches used DuDuXinJie as reference, which reveals DuDuXinJie’s historical value to the academic field.
