Firstly,This thesis attempts to do a simple exposition in history to theInvestigation of things problem, then objectively showcases Zheng Xuan、 KongYing-da、Sima Gnang、Chu His and WANG Yang-ming’s interpretations. To show theAcademic Transition more obvious, the author takes an objective attitude, on the basis ofthe summary of previous experiences, applying "Self-Interpreting of Confucian Classics"methods, restores The investigation of things to the full-text, to make some analysts. Toavoid wishful thinking when construing Investigation of things. The author applied thesame technique to Textual Research on The "Ge",thereby found the source of numerousscholars explaining The "Ge",and referred the original text、The Thirteen ConfucianClassics and the Thought of Pre-Qin Confucianism and so on. And then come to thefollowing conclusions: The "Ge" means "innovation","Investigation of things" has twokey implications: In the first place,it is based on theory of knowledge,constant innovatespeople and things’ recognition. In the second place,moral ideas is the core. TheInvestigation of things contains double meanings what knowledge and moral are related:As we are ambiguous on object and ourselves’recognition, therefore we have all thefeelings, covetousness and disgusting, thus damage intrinsic moral.
