Musical literature has a long history that can be traced back to the trinity period of ancientpoetry, music and dance. In Pre-qin and Han dynasty, poems didn’t separate with music, whichmeans original music still belongs to literature. Poetry works mostly are musicalliteratures.Musical literature is the initial stage of literature.Based on the analysis of music and literature works in pre-Qin periods, the combination ofrelevant data in excavated documents and the related literature handed down from ancient times,standing on the perspective point of musical literature, the article studies the representativework of pre-Qin musical literature, reviews the works of pre-Qin literature, and tries to discoverthe characteristics of musical literature so as to explore the hierarchy, education system, fieldand musical suspense system of the pre-Qin musical literature, revive ‘ecological’ status of thepre-Qin musical literature works, and better reveal the artistic charm of the pre-Qin works.Firstly, this article defines the musical literature and introduces the current research andthe significance to musical literature of pre-Qin. The second chapter of the thesis notices fromthe ancient poetry. This section focuses on the integration of poetry and music and its origin,development and structural function, and then combs the ancient ballads, six generations ofgreat music and dance, and musical structure in the Poetry of the South.nine songs. The thirdchapter of the thesis starts with The Book of Poetry as research subjects. It analyses specificissues on the basis of a large number of arguments for the The Book of Poetry as the backgroundof musical literature, the usage ‘poem’ phenomenon in general life, music officer system in theZhou dynasty, and musical structure of The Book of Poetry, etc. The fourth part of the thesisdiscusses many excellent works of musical literature in the process of the transformation ofvulgar and popular, such as Shang Bo bamboo slips the folk songs tracks, the way to be officers,Xunzi·phase, Chu-Feng and Poetry of the South. The fifth part of the thesis beginning with theperspective of the rites and music system, puts forward the concept of musical literaturesystem.Musical literature system mainly refers to the specific creation and rules in musicalliterature under the background of rites and music. Musical literature is the literature whichunder this system, having profound institutional literature characteristics. According todiscussion to the pre-Qin musical literature system, we can restore the hierarchy of musical literature to a certain extent, which helps us better understand the literary style under the ritesand music system of pre-Qin. The sixth part of the thesis mainly concerns about Shang Bobamboo slips Confucian poetics and Xun Zi·theory of music. It tries to mining the profoundmeaning from the view of musical literature theory, and expects to fulfill in the existing systemof literary theory. From the perspective of musical literature theory, Confucius’ poetics, whichcontains Confucius’s attitudes to the relationship between poetry and music and reveals to theirpolitical civilization function, has a huge significance, and offers new materials to the existingliterature of pre-Qin music theory. The article is on the perspective of musical literature toreview Xun Zi the theory of music, and reflects Xun Zi’s view of ritual and music and elaboratethe beauty of poems and music in Xun Zi’s “moderation and harmony”.In a word, the article has a systemic and detailed summarizes to the excellent andrepresentative musical literature works of pre-Qin,which is based on the view of the pre-Qinmusical literature.In this way, we are able to understand the inherent charm and grasp thebeauty of the pre-Qin literature better.
