| The produce and change of painting materials is closely related to social history, culture and technology development. As material is the material basis of painting, the artist can achieve self expression of thought and emotion. Thanks to the evolution and development of painting materials, the painting technique constantly updated and the creation of artists are more freedom and rich. According to creation intention, the artists show a special image texture, color and shape through comprehensive selection of materials and performance techniques. It is a trend in the development of painting that modern painting materials and techniques innovation make the artists’creation liberated from traditional so as to the maximum of the artistic creation liberalization. The thesis will comprehensively demonstrate the special significance in the formation of individual style through the analysis of painting materials and techniques, combined with my personal oil painting creation practice 《The Remaining》 series of works.The thesis is divided into four chapters. The first chapter is the introduction that mainly expounds the background of this subject, research contents and methods, research purpose and significance. Overview on the analysis of painting materials and techniques in my personal oil painting creation practice 《The Remaining》 series of works, the second chapter respectively discuss on Tan Vera’s technique, the produce of oil painting, direct and indirect act of painting, integrated use of modern materials for the expansion and innovation of the painting creation. The third one, taking an example of my individual works 《The remaining》 series creation, exploring the cohesion and development of painting materials and techniques and the abstract factors in the aqueous and oily materials innovation respectively from the view of the creative conception, material selection, production performance, etc. It is concluded that the possibility of cohesion between the comprehensive development of painting materials and techniques, and it is the inevitable way of the integrated innovation of painting materials and techniques to selectively absorb all kinds of contemporary art forms and different ideas.
