| There were eight kinds of subject matters in the script for story-telling of novel in Song and Yuan Dynasties in drunkards’speaking--the goblin stories, the ghost stories, the legend stories, the detective stories, the stories of a kind of sword with a long blade and a short hiltwielded with both hands, the stories of rods and bars, the immortal stories and the witchcraft stories. Among these stories, the goblin stories, the immortal stories and the witchcraft stories all had something in common, which subjects and contents were involved in goblins, immortals and ghosts. Therefore, this article take it as one category and make a study. This article traced to the source and floated down to the13existing the script for story-telling of novel of the goblins and immortals in Song and Yuan Dynasties in the first chapter. It showed us the close relationship between the script for story-telling of novel of the goblins and immortals in Song and Yuan Dynasties and the mystery and supernatural in the Wei and the Jin dynasties and the legend of the Tang Dynasty and the role of serving as a link between past and future in ancient Chinese novel. In chapter two, the article discussed the content features of the dichotomy of the goblins and the immortals which is to reveal the advising functions of novel.However, there were limitations in the form and content in the script for story-telling of novel of the goblins and immortals in Song and Yuan Dynasties, that is the oneness in narrative modes and the narrow subjects. The reason of it was the restrictive functions in the subject contents of the form of the storytelling art and the subject and quality of the script for story-telling of novel of the goblins and immortals in Song and Yuan Dynasties. In the third chapter, this article will analyze the decay process of script for story-telling of novel of the goblins and immortals in Song and Yuan Dynasties through the love motif and the influences of Buddhism and Taoism on the script for story-telling of novel of the goblins and immortals in Song and Yuan Dynasties through the becoming immortal motif and the karma motif. |
