Whether in ancient times, or now, in Chinese, or in Kazakh language, euphemism is a universal concept, a means of expressing in a language with certain features, and a language phenomenon which is closely related the society. With the development of science, the use and practicability of euphemism is getting more and more obvious. The reason why the euphemism is widely used in daily life of various nations is that euphemism is expressed in a way that can make people feel glad to hear that, instead of expressing in a way with unpleasant meaning or lack of respect. The emphasis of this paper is to make a comparative analysis of Chinese and Kazakh euphemism, and to explore the similarities and differences through this comparison analysis, and to put forward the teaching strategies to help foreign students learn Chinese euphemism.The full text is divided into three parts. The first part is the relevant overview to euphemism, including:the definition, the role and research review of euphemism. The second part is the comparative study of Chinese-Kazakh euphemism. The third part is the Central Asian students’cognition of Chinese euphemism, including the design of questionnaire to investigate the Central Asian students’awareness of Chinese euphemism and data results. finally, the teaching strategies to help foreign students learn Chinese euphemism is proposed.
