| Abstract: During the procedure of teaching Chinese literature course in Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University of Thailand, the author found that cultural differences between China and Thailand in religion, values, the seasonal climate and various aspects hindered the information transfer between teachers and learners. Observing the potential cultural differences, this paper focuses on employing effective methods to reduce students’misunderstandings which are caused by cultural differences, and making students to have senses of the fascination of Chinese classical poetry and realize the profound cultural intensity of china based on learning. Based on the analysis above, the present paper consists of introduction, the purpose and significance of this research, brief introduction to the origin of the theme, the organization of the research, and specifying the cultural elements impeding the Thai students interpreting Chinese poetry. This paper aims to figure out, in teaching Chinese literature course, what kind of approaches professors should apply to enhance Thai students’ Chinese proficiency and to increase the stock of literature knowledge, and to tackle the comprehension barriers in teaching Chinese literature course which are the consequence of cultural differences; that is, the purpose of this paper is to pose practical corresponding methods to copy with the understanding obstacles resulted from cultural differences. |
