| China and Russia are neighbors with their rich geographical, culturalcomplementary and economic complementary advantages. Communication ofChina and Russia has a long history, beside this the relation between twocountries in recent years gets closer and closer, continuously strengthen thecooperation in every aspect, in which the demand of interpreters are alsogrowing. However, the cultural differences will affect the members ofdifferent nations on communication. The difference of cultural image isinevitable obstacle in translation. As an interpreter,should have cross-culturalawareness, it will help both parties to overcome from barriers which causedby cultural differences of communication. Except the language skills ininterpreting, appear awkward situation to a great extent is the lack ofunderstanding of the cultural differences between Chinese and Russianinterpreters. Therefore, in order to achieve better translation effect, we need areliable translation theory, propose some effective strategies to overcome thebarriers in cross-cultural communication. After a cursory search, manyscholars have studied the influence of cross cultural factors on Englishtranslation at homeland and abroad, to put forward different translationmethods and strategies. While Russian language has its special features andcultural background, recently there are very few researches on interpretingcultural factors of Russian language.Based on Functional Translation Theory, the author first overview offunctional translation theory, expound the formation and development oftranslation theory and the core content. On the basis of theory, this paperanalyses the features of the Russian interpretation, highlights the culturalfactors in the interpretation and detailed comparative cultural imagedifference between China and Russia in the process of translation, and finallythrough examples deal with the differences of culture image strategies. In this paper, the structure is divided into three chapters. Theintroduction part explains the background of selected topics, research status athomeland and abroad, and provide the solutions of problems. The first chapterdiscusses functional translation theory, analyzes the characteristics of theRussian interpretation, and also expounds the relations between translation,language and culture. The second chapter explains the concept of culturalimagery from religion, customs, thinking style and so on, to explore the affectfactors of interpreting translation. The third chapter guide on the functionalisttranslation theory, summarizes the strategies of dealing with the culturalimage differences. On the one hand, cultivate cross-cultural awareness of theinterpreter and improve the culture, on the other hand to summarizetranslation method by practice.To sum up, in this paper, the author thinks that functionalist translationtheory in guiding overcome from Russian interpretation of the cultural imagedifference is significant. In the theory as the instruction, the author putforward a variety of translation strategies. Hope these strategies in theinterpreting practice will be practical. Believe, this paper has certain referencevalue on study the translation of cross-cultural communication activities infuture. |
