The Democratic Reform of Inner Mongolia, which is the first democraticreform among minority areas in China, started in1946. And The InnerMongolia Autonomous Region, which is the first autonomous region inChina, was founded in the next year. They are far-reaching significance.Inner Mongolia’s Democratic Reform is the most profound socialtransformation in modern times in Mongolia area. It is a key step ofmodernization in Inner Mongolia. This article attempts to re-examine thestatus and the role of the Democratic Reform of Inner Mongolia in thehistorical process of modernization in Inner Mongolia and the profoundimpact on the society of Inner Mongolia from the modern perspective.This paper concludes from the introduction, body composition and theconclusion. The body has four parts. The first chapter mainly contains theexploration of the early modern Mongolia areas whose main form was theindividual exploration of princes and dukes. It was a process that from mindsemancipation to seeking independence. Ruled by warlords, and meddled byRussia, Japan and America, the individual exploration failed. Also,organizations were weak. It was eager for strong leadership. In chapter two,it mainly discusses preparation that the Communist Party of China did inthe "new democracy period", in the inner Mongolia region. It was abouttraining of ethnic minority cadres, mobilizing the masses and so on. TheCPC expanded its influence, and became the leader gradually. It is theprocess of the Democratic Reform of Inner Mongolia in the third chapter.First, the reform began in the east part of Mongolia, which was anexperimentation. Experiences and lessons formed the correct policy. Thereform continued as a part of reform of the whole country. The last part ofthe body refines four main features of the reform and analyses it in threeaspects: relation of production, social relations and politics. The conclusion is a summary of the study and sublimation.Based on these studies, the paper presents a whole picture of theDemocratic Reform of Inner Mongolia from the choice of communism toimplementation of the Reform. It reevaluates the Democratic Reform ofInner Mongolia from the modern perspective and investigates the deepchange of the society after the Reform. Based on these, it clarifies theprofound and far-reaching influence on posterity.
