The Nationalism Thought Of Kuomintang In Anti-japanese War

This paper mainly studies the historical process of Kuomintang nationalist ideology’sdevelopment, role and trend, discussing the thriving reason, main characteristics andorganization use of Kuomintang nationalist ideology in this period. In terms of the entry pointof this study, it is Kuomintang nationalist ideology’s double meaning and appeal in theAnti-Japanese War that provides the study value and significance. On the one hand,Kuomintang nationalist ideology during the Anti-Japanese War has the following basicmeanings: uniting the people, resisting foreign aggression, and safeguarding nationalsovereignty and territorial integrity. on the other hand, it also reflects that in the situation ofcomplex internal and external fighting, Kuomintang expects the urgent requirements andpractices of “anti-japanese and national reconstruction”. The interweaving of the two aspects’motivation and appeal inevitably determines that this nationalist ideology has interwoven andmixed characteristics: progressive and conservative, democratic and autocratic, firm andcompromising.
