Specialty identity is an important problem which affects specialty ability development and career choice, should be paid great attention. This study is to understand undergraduate specialty identity, career decision-making difficult and the basic characteristics on self-efficacy, and discuss the mediating effect between self-efficacy in specialty identity and career decision-making difficult. This research is used the method of multiple self-report scale, and1021college students in the investigation. The results showed that:l.From the overall, the grand average score of undergraduates’ specialty identity:M=3.74, which is slightly higher than medium threshold (3points). Specialty identity’s level located above the average level. The average score of total career decision-making difficult:M=2.52, which is slightly lower than medium threshold (3points). The career choice problems level located below the average level. The average score of undergraduates’self-efficacy:M=2.64, which is slightly lower than medium threshold (2.86points). All this results are in line with the results before.2.College students have significant gender difference in the major type in the total score and every factors,and the female student is higher than the male student. The male student and female student have no significant difference in the career decision-making difficult in the total score, lacking preparation,and conflicts.But there has significant difference in information exploration difficult.And the male student is higher than female student. The male student and female student has significant difference in self-efficacy in the total score, and the male student is higher than the female student.3.There has significant difference in different major type specialty identity in the total score and every factors,and the arts major student is higher than science major student.There has no significant difference in different major type career decision-making difficult in the total score and every factors,and the arts major student is higher than science major student.There has significant difference in different major type self-efficacy in the total score and every factors,and the science major student is higher than arts major student.4.College students major choice has significant difference in speciality identity total score and every factors. The student of independent choice is higher than parents wish and dispensing major. College students major choice has no significant difference in career decision-making difficult total score and every factors.College students major choice has no significant difference in self-efficacy total score and every factors.5.There has significant difference in different major prospect specialty identity in the total score and every factors. Score points of popular major students is higher than the general major and dull subject major. There has no significant difference in lacking preparation of different major prospect, but there has significant difference in career decision-making difficult, information exploration difficult and conflicts. Scores of dull subject major students is higher than the general major and popular major. There has significant difference in different major prospect self-efficacy in the total score and every factors. Scores of popular subject major and the general students is higher than dull subject major.6.Among college specialty identity, career decision-making difficult and self-efficacy have significant relationship. Specialty identity and self-efficacy have important prediction on college career decision-making difficult.7.Self-efficacy of college school students plays an intermediary role between specialty identity and career decision-making difficult, specialty identity effected the career decision-making difficult through self-efficacy.This study confirmed the first hypothesis, which has certain theoretical and practical significance.
