This thesis is written in the form of practice report based on the author’s interpreting practice in her past two years’learning and field working. As is known to all, MTI is high demanding in practical work as well as with unique way of thesis writing compared with academic degree. According to East Journal of Translation (穆雷,2011), several formats for MTI thesis writing are proposed in it, in which Report of the Field Work is widely popularized. Considering the author has done the required quantity of interpreting practice, she prefers applying this type of format. That is Interpreting Practice Report of China Hybrid Rice Technology Foreign-Aid Project.Now that interpreting is a high-demanding work, it is quite necessary to refer to some theoretical knowledge to understand the nature of interpreting so that interpreters can know better about interpreting and resort to appropriate tactics in the process of interpretation. Only getting a good understanding of theoretical knowledge is not enough to improve practical abilities of interpreting and be a qualified and competent interpreter. Interpreters must practice in the on-spot situation to digest what they learn and transform knowledge to practical abilities. While if interpreters just do the practice without summarization and experience sharing, then they will still encounter bottleneck in the later learning and practice. Only in the way of combining practice and theoretical analysis or summarizing, can interpreters make a huge progress in a shorter period.In general, main types of interpreting learning and practice are liaison interpreting and conference interpreting; while simultaneous interpreting is not so possible for interpreting learner to do field work. As for the writer, she mainly participated in liaison interpreting and conference interpreting in her practice. Thus, this thesis will give a detailed description on each interpreting activity’s process, problems the writer met and propose solutions to these problems as well as present the unsolved issues.
