A Study On Chen Shu

Chen Shu(1508-1540),also named Yuezhi or Hougang,his hometown is located inYinXian,Zhejiang province. Life in the jiajing period of Ming dynasty. One of the "jiajingeight wit". The other seven are Tang Shunzhi、Wang Shenzhong、Li Kaixian、Ren Han、Lv Gao、Xiong Guo、Zhao Shichun. He is not only the core of "jiajing eight wit",but alsothe leader of “the group of early Tang”.Famous literati in Ming or Qing dynasties,just likeWang Shizhen、Hu Yinglin、Hang Zongxi, they all had high praise for his creative. MengWeiquan praised him for the first people of country. Chen Shu is also a famous poet in thehistory of east zhejiang literature. Studing on this poet is very meaningful for the study ofMing dynasty literature and zhejiang culture. However, it is a pity that since the foundingof country the research on Chen Shu almost is a blank. The study of Chen Shu is still quiteweak. I hope that this article can cause people pay more attention to the study of Chen Shuand early tang writers.This article is divided into three parts.Firstly,We will discuss his life story in order towe can have a more comprehensive understanding of him. Secondly, from his poeticsthought, discuss his poetic tendency, poetics view and its uniqueness. Thirdly, From hisattitude toward the former seven scholars sent and its relationship with tang dynasty sent toexamine his position in the literary world in the middle of the Ming dynasty.in the first place,there are different points in the literature About whether he waselected to Shu Chang. Record of the biography, letters hold that Chen Shu was a veritableShu Chang. But historical records shows that he did not go to complete the whole processof Shu Chang.Next, Chen Shu’s restoring ancient ways of poetic set throughout the six dynasties and“the group of Early Tang”. He was influenced by the poetic theory of the six dynasties,sohe is interested in learning Lu Ji、Xie Lingyun、He Xun in his works,And form elegantgraceful and restrained style.Then, after continuously explore, he criticize the ideology ofour predecessors,and advocate to learn from the early tang poetic style. This made himformed refreshing and powerful style.The last, He is on the basis of inheriting and criticism of the former sevenscholars,lead "jiajing eight wit" and other people,just like Tu Yingjun、Wang Ge、TianRucheng、Huang Fupang, formed another literary genre--the group of early Tang. They arepresent same tendency in the poetry creation to advocating the style of the early Tang. Inthe late stage of his life,he reviews his works,and has self-criticism of self’sproposition.And point out that there are insufficient.
