A Report On The Translation Of Corporate Articles Of Association

This report is a Chinese-English translation practice report of a joint venturecompany’s articles of association. As the basic regulatory document of the company,articles of association are the internal legal document of the company, belonging tothe scope of legal text.The report is divided into four parts. The first part is task description, in whichthe translator gives a brief introduction to corporate articles of association, theoriginal text and the significance and importance of translating such kind of text. Thesecond part is process description, which includes preparation before translation andunderstanding and expressing of the original text. The translator has a betterunderstanding of vocabulary and sentence characteristics of legal English throughreading relevant books and materials. The third part is case study. In this part, thetranslator gives a detailed case study of translation of legal terminology and fixedsentence patterns by exemplification. The fourth part is conclusion, whichsummarizes the inspiration, lessons and problems to be solved.The translation practice aims to put forward feasible strategies on theChinese-English translation of corporate articles of association, facilitating thetranslation of such kind of text in the future.
