In this translation report, guided by the Skopos Theory, combined with theauthor’s translation practice of the Erection Instruction of DGl025/18.2-II13boiler,the author offers a specific analysis of its translation. The source text belongs topractical writing, also a kind of technical text. The language in technical translation isobjective, accurate and logical, while it is of substantial information, high pertinencyin practical writing. For the reason, it both has the characteristics of the two kinds,which requires translators to have professional knowledge and strong ability oftranslating.The author offers a brief analysis on the characteristics of its lexicon, syntax anddiscourse under the guidance of Skopos Theory (involved the skopos rule,coherence rule, fidelity rule) and makes case analysis of the problems encountered inthe process of translation based on readers’ cognitive and comprehensive ability.Furthermore, the author also makes a summary of translating principles and strategiesfor instruction and some experiences in the translation process, and hope that thesimple analysis of this report will serve as a reference for the translation practices inthis field.
