Design And Analysis Of Mobile Platform For Foreign Students To Practice Chinese Characters Writing

Traditional culture of China has become the focus all over the world, and foreign learners pay close attention to Chinese characters at the same time. More and more foreign students come to our country. However, it makes the writing questions of Chinese characters come out, especially the spelling questions. Mobile learning is a new kind of learning style with the help of smart phone which allows users to break through the limitation of time and space. So what can we do to make foreign students learn Chinese characters better and to enhance their cognitive ability on stroke orders as well as components by mobile learning becomes the critical part for foreign students.The questions that foreign students meet when they are writing such as wrong stroke orders, the position error of components and the varying sizes of components were analyzed in this paper. Then, this paper came up with a mobile learning platform combined with Chinese characters, under the background of mobile learning. Under the guidance of connectivism, reinforcement theory and cognitive flexibility theory, this research put forward six principles to build the platform, they are the principle of micro game, the principle of sensory integration, the principle of smart feedback, the principle of timely interaction, the principle of easy operation together with the principle of expandability. And these principles were applied to mobile learning platform to put forward intelligent copying, piecing the components together, intelligently push and other functions. These functions are to make the students learn Chinese characters at finely divided time. The research combined mobile learning with Chinese characters organically, and it tries to provide a new way to build the Chinese learning platform as well. Finally, it would be an efficient tool for foreign students learning Chinese characters.
