This is a translation project report on the first part of Mobile Learning-Transforming the Delivery of Education and Training edited by Professor Mohamed Ally, one of the founding directors of the International Association of Mobile Learning(IAML). This book is an academic research on mobile learning. The source text of the project includes two chapters about current state of mobile learning and a model for framing mobile learning. This report consists of four chapters. Chapter One is introduction, including project background, project objective, project significance, and report layout. Chapter Two presents background of the source text, including about the author and analysis of the source text. Chapter Three illustrates difficulties in translation, including preparations, translation of abstract words, translation of proper nouns and terminologies, and translation of long sentences. Accordingly, the translator adopts different kinds of translation strategies illustrated with representative examples based on translation practices so as to achieve a better Chinese version. The corresponding strategies, including “division”, “restructuring”, and “amplification”, are adopted to cope with corresponding difficulties in translation so as to achieve faithfulness regarding content, language and literal style of the source language. Chapter Four draws a conclusion, including translation experience and lessons, and problems to be solved.
