| SuMo as one of the traditional Chinese ink painting techniques, is a reflection of the artists’ experience and the humanity spirit, its production and application is a development process which from casualness to inevitability.As a language of painting, SuMo also aimed at creating artistic image and expressing the affection.Maybe many people don’t understand SuMo because its seldom use by artist, even there is an attitude as "SuMo not desirable" in Chinese ancient time. For one thing, because of the traditional Chinese painting pay attention to use fresh ink; On the other hand, when in an improper use, it is extremely easy make the picture lacking luster, messy and dirty owing to the long time separation from gel and ink state which make SuMo coarse and muddy.However, as early as the song dynasty Guo Xi has put forward the concept of "SuMo", Guo Zhongshu also is recognized for SuMo speech, but can’t change the state of SuMo left out, so that in nearly one thousand years later also few artists attention SuMo, application SuMo and developmen SuMo. Until modern times Mr Huang SuMo boldly applied to his painting creation, form a "vigorous mail"unique painting style, and put the SuMo listed as one of the "seven ink presentation", raised to the height of the "law", SuMo was taken seriously again. Throughout the development of the contemporary Chinese landscape painting art constantly, flowers, more and more artists will be SuMo applied to artistic creation.On the base of inherit of ink technique from forefathers, the artists now is continuously expanding the expression form and exploring more development space of SuMo. It is undifficult to realize, SuMo has its own special hazy visional affect as a consequence of SuMo is widely used by artists. Therefore I hold the opnion that the application of SuMo has an innegligible reality meaning and value in today’s Chinese landscape painting. This article starts from the concept and the development of SuMo, exploring SuMo the theoretical foundation and basic of application of SuMo in traditional Chinese painting, in addition analysed the custom situation of contemporary landscape painting.Besides that, the artical set an analyse case based on contemporary artists Zhang Jie,He Jialin,Zhang Guwen,Yao Mingjing, Fang Xiang analyse their landscapa paintings from different angle of their theme, artistic conception and technique.Then sum up the aesthetic characteristics of SuMo, emphasisly explain SuMo’s aesthetic value in the contemporary Chinese landscape painting and limitations. Finally, the author combined with own sketch art creation and practice, summarized on the application of the SuMo cognition and comprehension, as well as to the profound thinking of the contemporary Chinese landscape painting. |
