A Research On The Poetics And Poems Of Exile By Jian Zhengzhen

Jian Zhengzhen, one of the most outstanding poets in Taiwan, is also an important literary theorist, who published a series of works both in poetry and theory. He who started writing poems ih his early years, and made a great contribution in introducing Western literary theories to Taiwan, making a positive effect on the development of contemporary poetry. So far, the research on Jan Zhengzhen has two "focuses", one is focused on the place within Taiwan, and the other is focused on the study of his poetic creation. At present, Jian Zhengzhen’s poetry and theory works has been published in the mainland of China. It is a great help for seeing the features of Taiwan contemporary academic circle. The main innovation of this thesis lies in the poetic aspects of the research on Jian Zhengzhen’s works, combining his poetic works and theoretical views. Regarding to the research on Jian Zhengzhen is wide-ranging; this paper selects the one aspect of the unique theory, which is called poetics of exile. The exile motif is one of the earliest literary motifs. Exile Literature Works is abundant in Taiwan in the second half of twentieth Century, which is formed a different characteristic from the China mainland literature. In this paper, a further introduction of Jian Zhengzhen’s poetic thought and woks becomes possible. On the other hand I also hope to make a breakthrough and contribute to the theoretical research on Jian Zhengzhen, exploring the uniqueness and value of his poetry theory, and find out the confirmation between his theories and works.The first and second chapters of this thesis mainly explains the definition of "exile" in Taiwan literature, talks the examples of Yu Guangzhong, Ye Weilian, Bai Xianyong, Zhang Xiguo, Chen Ruoxi, and lies the achievements of the motif on exile. Jan Zhengzhen also has his own exile experience, in this paper, the necessary background of these poems is added, and the analysis of the exile poetics and poetry is paved the way.The third chapter mainly analyzes the exile motif of Jian Zhengzhen’s practice, namely, his poetry creation. In the exile poems as examples, a simple analysis of the exile poetry characteristics is summed up. First, the poems of exile motif written by Jian Zhengzhen are mostly related to him experience of life. Second, on the construction of the art of poetry, Jian Zhengzhen is very good at philosophy thinking, and creates an unstable structure, using philosophical paradox questions to prompt readers to think. Third, Jian Zhengzhen is good at creating the cold feelings of poem. Fourth, the exile motif written by Jian Zhengzhen has a good use on the unstable images.The fourth chapter is mainly on the concrete analysis to the images on the long poem Time of exile and saliva. On the basis of the background of the poem, I mainly analyze three prominent images:images of flowing, images of traffic and images of incomplete. These images play an important role to the formation and the art of the poem, and they are also closely related to Jian Zhengzhen’s exile poetics propositions.The fifth chapter makes a summary. The study on the motif of exile is a presentation of Jian Zhenzhen who is devoted to the reality as an intellectual.The exile literature allows us to understand the feelings of the people of Taiwan, including their psychological and emotional aspects. It is valuable and significant for modern cross-strait communication. I hope it will be helpful for the relevant theoretical research.
